Sunday Smiles ♥

Sunday can be a grim cocktail of a hangover from Saturday evening and the impending gloom of Monday morning, however it doesn't have to be this way! While I am unable to offer a better hangover cure than Berocca and a bacon sandwich, I do hope to bring a small smile to your Sunday, making the thought of Monday morning seem a little more bearable.

All experience is an arch wherethrough gleams that untravelled world whose margin fades for ever and for ever when I move

Thanks for reading, I hope you had a great week and that you are looking forward to next week and the start of advent!

I met a new guy this week, he was very sweet when we met and was very keen to meet up again which I found refreshingly encouraging; I often find that guys play the hard-to-get card which can be so frustrating. Anyway we had agreed to meet up on Friday when on Thursday he texted me to tell me that he couldn't make it because he had a lot of work to do for Monday, that he wouldn't be able to do over the weekend. I didn't know how to take this, it was either a poor excuse for a brush off or he genuinely couldn't make it. I felt confused and annoyed but my friends encouraged me to give him the benefit of the doubt and wait to see what happens.

The interesting thing about this was that during last week when we were exchanging texts he would reply quickly and I would be the one putting distance between us. But now I'm the one waiting to hear from him, the tables have turned and I'm reminded of a line from Baz Luhrman's song Everybody's Free: 'Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours'. What ever happens with this guy I have learnt lessons from this that I would do well not to forget, if you find a nice guy don't push him away because he acts different to all the other dicks. Maybe he is a genuinely nice guy and he might mistake your distance as cold rather than self preservation.

In other news it's my sister's birthday this week so I'm sending this slightly creepy video to her and anyone else who has a birthday this week, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Thanks for reading

Hope you have had a good week! I'm about to start my third week of placement and it is going really well. It made me realise that I tend to jump to judgements too quickly. I didn't give myself time to settle in before I was rushing to the conclusion that I was on the wrong course. Keeping an open mind is not always easy but it is something that I am going to try to be better at.

I wasn't so popular at my halls of residence this week as I set the fire alarm off with my hair dryer. It meant that all 4 floors of the residence, housing around 200 students had to be evacuated. Two fire engines turned up and I had to go up to the front and explain the situation to the head fireman. It was so embarrassing! But I do think it made me more confident, I just think whatever it is it can't be as embarrassing as 2 fire engines and 200 pjama clad students giving me evils!
Hope you have a great week!

Hi, thanks for reading this post, this week I started my first week at placement at university. I had been nervous about this since I first accepted my place at uni. The nerves had made me doubt my choice of course and wonder if I had made the right choice for my future. But I have got the first week over and done with already; it went by really quickly and I realised that very few people love their job all of the time- there will always be days/ weeks that are really hard and that make you doubt your choice. But ultimately I know I am on the right course and this placement will pass in 3 weeks time. It reminded me of the saying 'this too shall pass'.
Nothing lasts forever and everything, the good and the bad, always comes to an end eventually.

This is a song by Angus and Julia Stone that I adore, I hope you enjoy it too:

Have a fantastic week

Thank you very much for reading my blog, I hope it managed to bring a smile to your Sunday!
A couple of posts ago I mentioned a guy I met in a nightclub I thought I'd update the story today. We went on a date which was lovely we talked for 4 hours straight about everything from music taste and tattoos to our bucket lists. We were going to organise a second date but in the meantime he got the job he'd been waiting months for, it involves long days and working most days of the week so we agreed that it wouldn't be practical trying to make a relationship work, especially since I am just about to start my first placement at university. I am a little disappointed but I'd rather we called it a day than try to drag out something that we both knew wasn't going to work. At the moment I am enjoying my single status; and there are plenty more Arctic Monkeys fans in Glasgow!
I hope things are going well with you and that you have a great week! This is Florence and the Machine's new song shake it out. I love it and I've had it on loop for days, hope you enjoy it too.

Have a great week
